Back at the jewelry bench
I have just returned from Oklahoma and I had time to shop for some new findings and beads and to think a lot about new designs and colors. When I got home last night, the mail was piled with several boxes and envelopes of new semi-precious stones and glass in many colors to wind into new jewelry designs. I'm looking forward to a weekend where I get up early and go to bed late, and work at my jewelry-making-place with my good light and the radio going. It is peaceful, and I can't wait to get started.
This week, I have several necklaces and earrings still listed on Ebay, and will double that amount during the next week. I'm anxious to start on some new jet black chandeliers and a necklace in cool green glass with pressed glass leaves.
More pictures will be up soon now that I'm home again from my trip to visit my 95 year old mother in Oklahoma and attend my 40th highschool reunion. My mom is my biggest fan and supporter, God Bless her heart. She helped me find some wonderful toggle clasps made like teacups and spoons. We had fun. I wore some chandelier earrings to the reunion, and noticed that many other women wore chandelier earrings as well. See you soon with more sparkles.

New Jewelry
I have been having a lot of fun making some new items, and these earrings that I made tonight out of Aragonite and turquoise Amazonite nuggets were especially fun. Until I wire-wrapped the last piece, I wasn't sure I was on track, but...now I really like them. Sometimes we just have to go with the flow.

Green chandelier earrings
I took a class at Sparks last night from a very nice teacher, who taught me a few tricks about wire wrapping briolettes and also gave me a little more confidence that I really do know how to do this. It was a fun class with very nice young women, and I made one of these chandelier earrrings during that class and finished the other one this morning. They are wire-wrapped with sterling silver, and I guess the next step is to learn how to be frugal with silver, since each earring took very close to three feet of silver wire. They are wire-wrapped all the way through, and dangle really well. I love the green briolettes and the shiny cats eye with the darker green Swarovski crystal. I wasn't sure about the design until I was half way through the first earring, and it started to take shape. They are very soft to the touch, and they dangle really easily and each strand stays close to the other. I am very happy with them.
I think I am going to keep these, and wear them for my 40th highschool reunion dinner in Oklahoma which will be September 25th. More about that at another time, my friends. Today, is is all about earrings and using my day to make mother and daughter pearl and crystal bracelets for the fair tomorrow.
